This muscle, joind to the base of the skull and the top of the shoulder
blade (scapula), lifts the shoulder blade vertically upwards and rotates
it a little outwards - in effect, it's one of your main 'shrugging' muscles.
It also tilts the head, if the shoulder blade is fixed. Probably not of
major importance in archery except for a secondary role in positioning
the scapula. |
